How to take a screenshot

Guide to taking screenshots on your device

Information Required

In order for the Box of Books team to assist you, we require the following information to ensure that we can see the exact instance that you experienced your issue:

  • Description of the steps you took before you got to the error

  • A screenshot with the following information:

    • Time

    • Date

    • URL at the top of the screen

    • Error

Mac OS

  1. Press Shift-Command(⌘)-3

  2. Find the screenshot as a .png file on your desktop.

Windows OS

  1. Press the “Print Screen” (often shortened to “PrtScn”) key located on your keyboard. (Typically located on upper-right corner of keyboard); If on a laptop, you may need to press the "Fn" key along with the "Print Screen" key.

  2. Open Paint, and click the Paste button located in the upper-left corner of the program (alternatively, press "Ctrl" + "V" on your keyboard).

  3. Save the screenshot by going to File > Save As

iOS - Apple Devices

  1. Press and hold the Power button

  2. Immediately click the Home button, then release the Power button

  3. Find the screenshot file within the Photos application, then Albums and tap Screenshots.
